Letter From Bobby Waite

Dearest Congregation of Shiloh,

Homecoming greetings from your former Pastor.

I have many wonderful fond memories of the years you allowed me to pastor the flock.

I read on the front of the newsletter that this Sunday is Homecoming. So, I thought it fitting to drop you a note reinforcing what you already know, that Shiloh Baptist Church is a wonderful place to call home. I left Shiloh over 25 years ago, yet my recollection of the relationships of brothers and sisters in Christ remain strong.

I am now a grandfather, Jenny has 3 beautiful children and lives in Austin.  Sally is a school teacher, Joe is finding himself, and Lucy is a professor at Texas A&M.  I am currently a principal in a middle school with a thousand students and a hundred adults.  Life has many twists and turns in 25 years.  We are active in First Baptist Church; McKinney and I teach Bible Study workshops from time to time.  My passion for Bible Study continues, I hope I am better at living Christlike everyday.

My prayer is that God continues to work in and through the body of believers that call themselves Shiloh Baptist Church.

The church sent me one of the beautiful blankers from a past celebration that I cherish.  Thank you for the gift and the opportunities you gave to minister.

With deepest love,

Bobby Waite
