In August of 2011 we voted to participate in
the South Carolina Baptist training process designed
to strengthen churches. The Intentional
Church Multiplication Process is built on the
foundational belief that healthy churches grow.
So we have members learning about the keys to
having a healthy, strong church because healthy
churches grow. The word “intention” means “a
plan of action or an aim that guides action.”
Churches usually do not grow unless they have a
plan of action or an aim that guides action. That
plan of action and that aim or goal for a church
should be based on the revealed will of God,
which is found in the word of God. We call this
guiding aim for the church our vision. One of the
first things that we will work on after our Church
Multiplication Process surveys are completed is a
united, God-given, written vision for Shiloh Baptist
Church. Thank you in advance for your help
and participation in the surveys that we will do on
January 29.
The following are some of the tasks that we
have accomplished thus far:
- We elected a Church Health Prayer Team to lead the church in praying for the Intentional Church Multiplication Process.
- We elected a Church Health Task Force to do the preparation and follow up work for each step in the process.
- The Prayer Team and the Task Force have received basic training from our church’s consultant to help them understand and begin their work. Several members along with our pastor have received more extensive training in workshops provided at Millbrook Baptist Church.
- We are preparing to take an Intentional Church Multiplication Process Strengths Development survey among our adults and youths on January 29, 2012.
