From The Preacher's Desk:
Week of January 29-February 5
In Ephesians 4 the Bible tells us that God wants His churches to be
united in Christian love. He also wants church leaders to equip and
prepare the church members to serve in various ways in the church. To
better equip our members for serving in the church, we are planning to
offer opportunities for deacon training and teacher training in our
church. Preparation is one key to effective
service in God’s kingdom.
In Ephesians 4:17 Paul wrote, “So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.” God wants His people to be holy in our thinking and in our actions. God wants His people to be different from those who aren’t saved. Since God has been good to us, we ought to obey Him and let His Spirit in us lead us to live holy lives. We honor God when we are walking in unity and holiness willing to serve one another.
